The most convenient way to get to Uttaranchal is by road. The golden triangle of Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun in Garhwal region is a reasonably well-maintained road link from Delhi as is getting to Nainital, Almora and other tourist destinations of Kumaon. Buses reach to virtually every tourist point of Uttaranchal. The state roadway has a very extensive network - plying deluxe, express and air-conditioned coaches.
And, Srinagar does not offer other options such as Rail or Air as means of direct access.
From any direction, a minimum distance of about 100 kms. has to be covered by road only.
Nearest Railhead is either Rishikesh (108 kms.) or Kotdwar (138 kms.).
And the nearest Airport is Jolly Grant, Dehradun (149 kms.).
To reach Kotdwar or Haridwar, if you are settled with your own or any private vehicle, the National Highway
No. 58 (Delhi to Badrinath-Mana) has to be followed.
